What is Chiropractic Care in Vassar?
What is chiropractic? How does chiropractic work? Who should see a chiropractor? These are all questions I hear on a regular basis. I wanted to take a few minutes and answer them.
What does chiropractic treat? People seek chiropractic care in Vassar for a variety of reasons. The most common conditions we see in our office are low back pain, sciatica, neck pain, headaches. In our office, we see a wide variety of conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system, joints, and spine. We also see many patients that visit for general health and wellbeing.
How does chiropractic "work"? Chiropractic does not treat the above conditions directly, rather, it looks to remove subluxations. Subluxations are areas of the spine that have lost their alignment, gotten stuck in the wrong position, and pinch on spinal nerves. Since our nervous system controls every single cell, tissue, muscle, and organ in our bodies, this interference can disrupt the signals the brain is trying to send to our bodies to make them work. This can result in pain and dysfunction. By removing the interference, you feel better and function better.
Who should see a chiropractor? The answer is anyone with a spine and nervous system. Chiropractic adjustments are safe for all ages; from newborns to the elderly. Adjustments are modified to fit the condition and age of the patient. If you have any further questions, just call our office and we will be happy to try and answer them.
