Happy Healthy New Year in Vassar
It's that time again when we make our list of resolutions for the coming year. For many people, health and wellness resolutions in Vassar are part of the list. Resolutions to exercise more, change eating habits, drink less, quit smoking; the list can go on and on. We have great intentions of sticking to these resolutions but as the daily stresses and strains creep back in, the resolutions can fall to the wayside. We wanted to share some ways to help keep those resolutions well into the new year.
First, make sure your goals are realistic. I will use the example of exercising more. You can always start small and then increase your intensity. For example, if your goal is to exercise daily, you could start with scheduling exercise for three to four days and work up to a daily routine. Secondly, if you fall behind, miss a day, etc, don't quit. Keep trying and pick up where you left off without coming down hard on yourself; remember we are all human and will stumble from time to time. Finally, ask for help and support. Talk about your experiences and get advice from those who are trying to do the same or have done it already; their advice and support can be invaluable.
